Research Areas
Prof. Furlani’s research interests include multidisciplinary and multiscale modeling of materials and devices in the fields of microsystems, microfluidics, biomagnetics and phophotonics. He works with other ILPB faculty in the following areas.
- Biomagnetics: novel devices.
- Magnetic micro/nano-particles: novel systems, drug delivery, bioseparation, magnetofection.
- Microfluidcs: novel processes and devices including nanofluids and multiphase systems.
- Photonics: analysis and design of nanoscale plamsmonic systems and (negative-index) metamaterials.
- MEMS: analysis and design.
